FORMULATION OVERVIEW: Natural Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo refreshes the hair between washes by absorbing excess oil that is produced by the scalp. Dry shampoo is used when hair starts to get oily, so that washing can be postponed by another day or two. It is applied close to the hair roots and then brushed through the hair. Dry shampoo can also help to provide volume to the hair.
Dry shampoo offers some environmental benefits, including the potential for reduced water consumption. Dry shampoo formulas do not contain water and are used without water. Using a dry shampoo can increase the number of days between washing the hair, and less frequent hair washing also reduces water usage.
Less frequent hair washing is arguably better for the hair, too, as breakage can occur during the process of washing, combing and drying the hair, and frequent washing with shampoo may also interfere with the scalp’s natural pH and sebum levels.
