Formulation Example: Sugaring Wax
Sugaring wax is a vegan alternative to traditional hair removal wax which often contains beeswax. Sugaring wax is inexpensive, easy to make at home and is water soluble, which means if you apply the paste in the wrong area it can simply be washed away with warm water.
When the paste is removed from the skin, in a swift pulling action, the hairs are removed along with the product, leaving soft, smooth and hair-free skin. This type of physical hair removal pulls hair out from the root. For the hair to grow back, the root must first grow back, meaning the regrowth is much slower than superficial hair removal such as shaving. Over time, with repeated sugaring or waxing, the hair follicle becomes damaged, the regrowth is slower and hair becomes thinner.
