Advanced Natural Color Cosmetics

We are so excited to welcome you to Formulating Advanced Natural Color Cosmetics! 

In Module 3 Advanced Eye Products, you’ll learn to formulate cream eye shadow, cream-to-powder eye shadow and eye crayons, eye and eyebrow pencils, liquid eyeliner and eyebrow pomade. Mascaras are advanced products to make, so we have provided two formulas for you to practice with: a beginners’ formula and a more advanced formula, plus a step-by-step demonstration video. Learn to make your eye products vegan too, if you wish. 

We provide expertly created formulation examples for you to make first before you move on to formulating your own unique and gorgeous products. By following our detailed guidelines and templates, you’ll be creating your own professional standard advanced eye products in no time! We include a selection of demonstration videos to show you, step by step, how to make the more complex products and Preservative Efficacy Test reports that prove the formulations are preserved effectively.

Formulating Advanced Natural Color Cosmetics contains five modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Formulating Advanced Color Cosmetics
Discover the course road map and prerequisites, chemistry of color cosmetics, ingredients, equipment, packaging and best practices.

Module 2: Advanced Lip Products
Formulate tinted lip balm, lip gloss, lipstick and lip liner pencils.

Module 3: Advanced Eye Makeup
Formulate cream eye shadows, cream-to-powder eye shadows, eye shadow crayons, eye and eyebrow pencils, liquid eyeliner, mascara and eyebrow pomade.

Module 4: Advanced Blushers, Bronzers and Highlighters
Formulate bronzer and blusher sticks, cream blush, mousse blush and liquid highlighter.

Module 5: Advanced Foundation and Concealer
Formulate concealer sticks, cream concealer, lightweight/sheer coverage foundation and full coverage foundation.

When you complete both the Formulating Mineral Makeup and Formulating Advanced Natural Color Cosmetics courses you are eligible to receive our Diploma in Formulating Natural Makeup and Advanced Color Cosmetics.

Module 3 consists of six lessons:

3.1 INTRODUCTION TO FORMULATING COLOR COSMETICS FOR EYES

In this lesson, we will cover:

  1. Product types, properties and functions.
  2. Fragrances in color cosmetics for eyes.
  3. Eye safe pigments.
  4. Storage and shelf-life.
  5. A brief note on example formulations.

 

    3.2 FORMULATING CREAM EYE SHADOW, CREAM-TO-POWDER EYE SHADOW AND EYE CRAYONS

    In this lesson, we will cover:

    1. How to formulate cream eye shadow and cream-to-powder eye shadow.
    2. Examples on the market.
    3. Formulation template for cream eye shadow and cream-to-powder eye shadow.
    4. Formulation example for cream eye shadow and cream-to-powder eye shadow.
    5. Adjusting the formula.
    6. Formulation template for an eye crayon.
    7. Formula for an eye crayon.
    8. Pigment mixtures.

    3.3 FORMULATING EYE AND EYEBROW PENCILS
